FLOS at 10 Corso Como New York
Announcing a new retail partnership with the internationally-renowned concept shop, featuring a special lighting installation by Michael Anastassiades
FLOS is proud to announce a new retail partnership with 10 Corso Como, the prestigious, global concept shop that opened its doors in New York on September 7, 2018. The 28,000-square foot space is the first U.S. location for 10 Corso Como, and hosts a special, temporary installation of Michael Anastassiades’ Arrangements.
10 Corso Como is a pioneering concept store and unique retail destination with the radical experience of a “virtual 3D magazine.” Fusing culture and commerce in a single place, 10 Corso Como is centered around an experiential lifestyle. Founder Carla Sozzani opened the first 10 Corso Como in Milan in 1991, and has since expanded to major cities including Seoul, Shanghai, Beijing and now, New York.
On display at 10 Corso Como New York is a temporary installation of FLOS & Michael Anastassiades’ Arrangements, a modular system of geometric light elements that can be combined to create unique interplays of light and space. Inspired by the parallel that exists between lighting and jewelry, each unit simply attaches onto the previous one, balancing perfectly as part of a glowing chain.
Anastassiades designed a series of interwoven Arrangements modules, resulting in three works of lighting art as hanging sculptures throughout the space, each as a commentary on the relationship between pendant lighting and pendant jewelry. A small column, large column and curtain of LED fixtures illuminates a corner of the store, adding to the dramatic, extraordinary interior.
Arrangements offers a range of possible configurations, from the suspension of a few elements, to the creation of a major sculptural installation. 10 Corso Como New York features a specially designed and expertly curated combination of luminescent fixtures for sale from FLOS, beginning September 2018.
